Michael Thomas Alley

Michael Thomas Alley, known to most as Mike, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in West Branch, MI, at the age of 55. Born on Saturday, January 24, 1970, in Bay City, MI. Mike spent most of his childhood in West Branch before spending many years in both Mt. Pleasant and the Detroit Area but ultimately returned to his hometown. He worked hard and played hard and made many friends through the years. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren.

Mike began his professional journey after graduating from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1988 and then earning his Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1992. He worked at the Atheneum Suite Hotel in Greektown, Detroit, before beginning a career with Chrysler in Warren, MI. More recently, he was employed by Art Dore in Bay City, MI, where he continued to make contributions to his field.

Outside of work, Mike had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially golfing, often cherishing his time spent at the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula. His interests reflected his love for nature and family bonding.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife of 31 years, Stacy Alley, along with their children: Lisa (Kevin Knight) Alley, John (Taryn) Alley, both of West Branch and Justin Alley, who currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was also a proud grandfather of five grandchildren: Alayna, Gavin, Jaxon, Scarlett, and Sawyer. He is also survived by his father, Thomas Alley of East Lansing, MI, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce (Gildner) Alley, and his baby brother, Joseph.

Services for Mike will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes in West Branch, MI, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Memorial contributions to the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club. A club that his grandfather, Frank Alley, started many years ago. The trail head and club house currently sit at the Frank Alley Memorial Park in his honor.

Mike's memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
