It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mitchell Francis Kreda, who left us on May 30, 2026 at the age of 77. Born on May 4, 1949, in Hamtramck, Michigan, he was the cherished son of Joseph Francis and Genevieve (Tokarz) Kreda. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
Mitch was a devoted husband, beloved brother, uncle and friend. He cherished his time with family and friends, especially at their lake house where he found peace by the water. A lifelong fan of Red Wings hockey, he also loved woodworking, golfing, boating, and reading. His life marked by dedication, warmth, and a profound commitment to those he loved. He is survived by his wife Chris of 57 years, his sister Christine Hampton, his cousin Cas (Chuck) Pupilis, his in-laws Keith and Karen Borowy, nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. These family members, along with many friends, were a source of great comfort and happiness throughout his life.
On May 9, 1969, Mitch celebrated one of the proudest moments of his life when he married Christine Ann Cejman at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Their enduring partnership of almost six decades was a testament to their deep love, mutual respect, and steadfast support for one another.
Mitchell Francis Kreda will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and interests but for the kindness, generosity, and steadfast presence he offered to all who knew him. His legacy endures in the hearts of his wife, family, and friends, who honor his memory with love and respect.
