Nancy Sue Fain

Nancy Sue Fain, 75, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at her home in St. Helen with her husband by her side. Nancy was born in Toledo, Ohio to G.H. & Nettie (Feddick) Johnston on November 8, 1942. She had lived in St. Helen full time for the past 14 years previously of Troy, MI. Nancy was a proud 1960 graduate from Flint Northern High school. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in St. Helen and belonged to the Ladies of Hope, and enjoyed their many quilting groups. She and her husband John were past member of the Elk Lodge in Troy and then in Houghton Lake. Most of all she loved spending time with her family whether it be trips to the casino or summer gatherings at her home on the lake. She loved her family dearly and treasured every minute together.

She is survived by her husband John C. Fain Sr. of St. Helen; son John (Christine) Fain Jr. of Brandywine, MD; daughter Amy (Jeff) Cooper of Troy, MI, her two precious grandchildren Justin and Katie Sue Cooper. She is also survived by her dear cousin George Groehsl of Harrison, cousin Diane Sloan of Fenton, as well as nephews and one niece. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Lee, and brother James Johnston.

Per Nancy’s wishes a cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.
