Paul Gerhardt Ruediger, 85, died at home in Rose City, June 25, 2025.
Paul was born to the Reverend Gerhardt and Ida Krenske Ruediger February 1, 1940, at Marion Springs.
After graduating from Michigan Lutheran Seminary and Concordia College-Seward, he taught school for 18 years. After graduating from Concordia Theological Seminary-Fort Wayne, he became a minister, serving congregations in West Branch, St. Helen, Moltke Township, Glennie and Mio.
Paul married Loetta Mae List December 26, 1959. Five children were born to them: Timothy (Najoo), Thomas (Leanne), Amy (John Hensel), Anne (1970-1972) and Elizabeth (1979-2019). Thus, eight grandchildren: Erik (Danielle), Cyrus and Jesse; Elise and Luke; Alexander and Eliza; and a great-grandson, Leo.
Paul was predeceased by his parents; brother Erich and wife Martha Elenore; sister Louise and husband Woodrow Railling; brother Oswald and wife Martha; Dorothea and husband Victor Spiekerman; brother Marcus and wife Irene; sister Lois and husband Gordon Montie; and brother-in-law Edmund Swanson.
His sister, Charlotte Swanson, survives.
Paul’s body will be committed to the earth in a private ceremony at Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton.
A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 303 Ruth St. Auburn, Michigan. There will be an hour to visit before the funeral service, and all are welcome to stay afterwards for a meal.
