Robert Darrel Jones

Robert Darrel Jones, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at his home in St. Helen, MI. He was born on December 31, 1943, in Royal Oak, MI to Robert F. and Elizabeth (Evans) Jones.

He married Jacklean Riddle in Mount Clemens, MI on February 1, 1966.

Robert spent 36 years as a business owner in St. Helen, where he built a respected livelihood manufacturing septic tanks and delivering concrete. Through his work, he became known not only for his skill and reliability, but also for the integrity with which he conducted himself. He took pride in providing for his community and in building something lasting through perseverance and dedication.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jacklean Jones. He also leaves behind his sons, Jack (Teri) Jones, Jeffrey Jones, and Jeremy Jones. Robert was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Jason, Jeffrey Robert, Jandi Jones, Jenelle Jones, Jasmyn Jones, and Janae (Sawyer) Schmidt. He was blessed to know the joy of his great-granddaughters, Joslynn, and Sunny, and his great grandsons, Jensen, Charlie, and Brewer, each of whom brought him happiness and pride.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, James, William, and Richard, and his sister, Kathleen. Their memories remained part of his life, and he carried their love with him always.

Though he will be deeply missed, the example he set and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will begin at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Allan Feltner will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in St. Helen, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Compassus Hospice in West Branch, MI.
