Ronald A. Thomas, age 58 of Rose City passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at his home. Ron had lived in Rose City for most of his life. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #8948. He was also a member and past president of the Michigan Maple Syrup Association and served as a delegate for the North American Maple Syrup Council. Ron is survived by his wife Debbi Thomas of Rose City, his daughter Becky (Steve) King and grandson Elliot King all of Midland. Also surviving is his mother in law, Joan Reetz of West Branch, his brothers, Richard (Connie) Thomas of Saginaw, Gerald (Jean) Thomas of Hale and Robert (Jan) Thomas of Copemish and his sister Judy (Bill) Schrank of Turner and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 7-9 p.m and Wednesday from 1-9 p.m. with a K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. The Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Klacking Creek. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Maple Research Fund or the Kidney Foundation.
