Ruth Margaret Williams

Ruth Margaret Williams, age 58, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home in Roscommon, Michigan, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1967, in Standish, Michigan to Robert and Clara (Wickenhagen) Hickmott Sr. Ruth lived a life devoted to family, kindness, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and unwavering love.

Throughout her life, Ruth was the heart of her family. She cherished her role as a mother above all else, and nothing gave her greater joy than nurturing her children. Always eager to lend a hand, Ruth made certain that anyone who needed help could count on her—her selflessness touched all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Devere Williams; son, Raymond (Heather LaBaron) Hickmott, Shawn Williams, Jonathan (Colleen) Williams, and Anthony Williams; sister and brothers: Rebecca White, Ralph (Cathy) Hickmott, and Robert Hickmott Jr. Ruth’s influence and care radiated to her grandchildren, who truly were her world: Jacob Hickmott, Alexis Stamper, Savannah Hickmott, Gabriel Burns, Raymond Hickmott Jr., Monica Hickmott, Eragon Lamrock, Ryan Hickmott, Angel Hickmott, Axton Williams, and Hunter McCammack. Each of them felt the warmth of her embrace and the joy of her pride in their lives—a testament to the profound impact she had as a grandmother.

Ruth found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed the quiet artistry of crocheting, delighted in the excitement of playing bingo, and took great satisfaction in working in the yard.

Those she leaves behind will remember Ruth for her boundless kindness, her willingness to help at every turn, and the gentle strength with which she cared for her loved ones. As her family mourns her passing, they remain grateful for every cherished memory, every lesson learned, and every moment shared.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post #5680, 1914 Lake St., St. Helen, MI 48656.
